LHBA Careers Showcase

London

On November 5, 2014 the London Home Builder’s Association (LHBA) will host a “Career Showcase” highlighting the full breadth and variety of careers associated with the residential construction industry. The event will run from 4:00pm - 8:00pm at the Carousel Room in the Western Fair District. This timing will allow parents, teachers, and students grade 7-12 to attend.

Come to the event to interact with industry professionals – explore the variety of options available in the residential construction industry and the educational paths to achieve future success in the industry. From planning to execution there are hundreds of options to accommodate your dreams.

"We don’t just build homes – We Build. Careers. We Build. Futures."

Elementary and Secondary School students have less opportunity for hands on learning in the classroom. Larger classes and limited tech programs combined with a tendency from parents and teachers to encourage only paths to university, all contribute to the misperception that we only offer trades which are “second rate” jobs for those who can’t take the academic path. The residential housing industry suffers under this perception.

In an effort to get families talking about the variety of careers in construction, the London Home Builders’ Association is creating an experiential learning environment for parents, students, and teachers to interact with people in the industry.
